Samtliga häften med handskrivet datum på framsidan samt med exlibrisstämpel. Sci-fi fanzine tillägnat Kapten Frank (Captain Future). Nr 1-10 + 4 1/2 (special letter zine) samt även faksimil av Jennings, Robert: CAPTAIN FUTURE: “MAN OF TOMORROW”, artikel på engelska om Captain Future och dess skapare Edmond Hamilton.

FUTURE FAN är officiellt organ för KAPTEN FRANK-KLUBBEN (Captain Future Society), och distribueras till klubbens medlemmar, nordiska fanzine-utgivare och andra enligt redalctionens beslut. Medlemskap, berättigande till tre möten mnd Frankmännen, kostar 10:- . Det kan synas vara dyrt, men specialicerade föreningar med rätt få medlemmar – likt vår får en proportidnsvis hög medlemsavgift.

Et puis Grag, la montagne de fer indestructible dotée d’outils intégrés étonnants. Sans oublier Otho, l’androïde synthétique, spécialiste du combat rapproché, de l’infiltration et du camouflage. Ils sont les Futuristes, la plus stupéfiante association qui puisse s’imaginer. Or un fléau court à travers le Système solaire, une épouvantable pandémie derrière laquelle semble se tapir un mystérieux criminel, l’empereur de l’Espace. Il n’est alors qu’un seul recours : celui du capitaine Futur ! Les tuyères du Comète, le formidable vaisseau des Futuristes, crachent déjà la puissance de l’atome : l’empereur de l’Espace n’a qu’à bien se tenir !

Figure centrale de l’Âge d’or de la science-fiction américaine, scénariste de quantité de comics, dont Superman et Batman, Edmond Hamilton (1904-1977) est considéré comme l’un des inventeurs du space opera. Avec la série du Capitaine Futur, développée entre 1940 et 1951, traduite dans le monde entier mais plus connue en francophonie sous le nom de Capitaine Flam suite à son adaptation en dessin animé par la Tôei Animation dès 1978, il jette les bases d’une sous-culture populaire appelée à connaître un succès planétaire sous ses incarnations cinématographiques modernes — Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica et autre Star Trek.

Sauf que tuer le protecteur du Système solaire n’est pas si simple…

Or l’infâme Dr Zarro ourdit un plan abominable afin d’asseoir son pouvoir sur l’ensemble des mondes connus, un stratagème à l’échelle du Système solaire relayé par sa Légion de l’apocalypse. Une mission pour le Capitaine Futur, en somme, qui pourrait bien le conduire jusqu’aux terribles plaines glacées de Pluton et leurs Montagnes qui marchent…
